Foster Children's Clothes Closet

Helping Local Foster Children; a giving opportunity.

Every day in Kitsap County a child somewhere is placed in a temporary foster home; most of the time the children come with only the clothes on their backs. The Kitsap Foster Care Association established a closet at the Division of Children and Family Services (DCFS) office for Kitsap County to provide foster parents with essential clothing for at least a few days. The closet stocks pajamas, diapers, pull-ups, formula, under garments, socks, coats and clothing. Most of these items are new, but some are like-new. Many churches and organizations help keep the closet stocked, but we have a real need right now for pajamas in children sizes 5-10 for boys and girls. We are also very low on socks in children’s sizes. All donations to the closet are tax-deductible.  If you can help, please bring your donation of pajamas or socks to the church or give us a call at 360-373-6425. Thank you.

The New Beginnings Closet is located at 4171 Wheaton Way in Bremerton and provides free clothing to families in Kitsap County. We are open Tuesday and Thursday from 10-2 and Sunday from 2-4. If you are unable to come on those days appointments are available on a need basis. New Beginnings relies on clothing donations from the community as well as volunteers, there are no paid staff. We also have a designated shopping area for foster families. We are a non-profit corporation and accept cash donations as well. All donations are tax deductible. For more information on how to donate, volunteer, or shop please contact Jeanie Johns 360-265-3398 or email us at
