Year Number Two (2014) Has Just Sailed By!

Fundraising in 2014 by the Tracyton UMW has been a year of work and gratification.  The Charity Knitting Group worked all year long on the items to be sold at the Bazaar held in November and our wonderful friend Elizabeth Burgess created two beautiful quilts for us to auction, one at the Community Picnic and one at the Bazaar.

This year we created a "Cleaning Table" which included donated household items for anyone who may make use of them, asking only for donations to missions. The Cleaning Table rendered over $230!  Thanks to all who donated and helped  to organize the tables and a BIG thanks to the ladies who manned the tables on Saturday for a quick and profitable yard sale with the remaining treasures from the Cleaning Table.  You ladies are AWESOME!!!

The "Gleaning Table" was once again a great success, with items donated and “purchased” all summer long. The concept of Gleaning is bible based; "'When you reap the harvest of your land, do not reap to the very edges of your field or gather the gleanings of your harvest. Leave them for the poor and for the foreigner residing among you. I am the LORD your God.'"  Leviticus 23:22  (N I V)
We are grateful for all the help and support that was given to make our fundraising projects a success at the “Bazaar By The Bay”.  Thanks to many supportive cooks we had a variety of wonderful food items on the bake sale table. Our Charity Knitting Group and crafts table were led by our president, Sally Klein. The groups industry throughout the year brought ooo’s and aaw’s from all who passed by.  The craft items were unique and sot after by many. We are so lucky to have such an imaginative group of women working together.

The Christmas Café, under the direction of Kathy Bogue was enjoyed by all the hungry vendors and shoppers. A special thank you to Hannah Stanton for sharing her knowledge on kitchen prep as well as helping Susie White to keep all those dishes washed. Fun was had by all.
